Block chain is a revolutionary technology whose first super application, cryptocurrency and more specifically, Bitcoin has taken the world by storm.

Blockchain is a specific type of database; it differs from a typical database in the way it stores information; blockchains store data in blocks that are then chained together. As new data comes in, it is entered into a fresh block. Once the block is filled with data, it is chained onto the previous block, which makes the data chained together in chronological order. Different types of information can be stored on a blockchain but the most common use so far has been as a ledger for transactions. Decentralized blockchains are immutable, which means that the data entered is irreversible and hence, provide a public transparent way to track and record ownership on an asset.

Blockchain has gained global recognition as technology for the future and has ignited possibilities & imagination amongst regulators, governments, businesses, economists, technologists and public. Supply chain is one area that is likely to benefit from greater transparency and traceability to all the
stakeholders – seller, buyers, banks, shipping, regulators and logistics service providers, lower the costs and reduce risks. Using blockchain in the supply chain can help record price, date, location, quality, certification, and other relevant information to effectively manage the supply chain and the related supply chain finance including trade finance.

Prior to this, he was Head of Fintech at the Asian regional Bank, DBS Bank- rated the best global digital Bank. Prior to joining DBS, Rudy was with Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) as a venture capitalist and dealt with strategic innovations. There, he worked closely with media startups to develop new business models and generated fresh revenue streams across SPH’s extensive range of media platforms
