ADVANCED HSE AND ASSET MANAGEMENT EXCELLENCE – POWER 2017

Overview

Driven by energy policy and regulation, global power markets are undergoing profound change requiring new ways of managing electrical power networks in challenging times. Some of these challenges include: managing skills shortages in key technically-oriented areas, improving the quality of supply, working plant harder, managing networks with ‘low carbon’ generation, managing a multi-skilled workforce – and above all, keeping the lights on! All of this to be done with expectations by shareholders of a return on investment and expectations by staff and the public of very high levels of safety.

In this 3-day course, we will explore regulatory expectations for those who own and operate electrical power networks – both public and private in terms of ensuring the safety of their own staff and that of others. The course will demonstrate concepts of best practice in asset management and illustrate that the effective management of physical assets relies to a large extent on the successful management of human assets.

The course will address some of the challenges already emerging from the use of “Smart” technology and reflect on whether we are smart. With the increase in governmental regulations in HSE all over the world, this course will provide you with the basics to assess and improve your current HSE and asset plans; and will provide you with insights into key areas where you may want to make improvements.
